Appademic is a personal endeavour funded entirely by its sole author. Links to products and services will sometimes include referral codes. If a purchase is made via affiliate links the author will receive a small commission. This helps support this site in a small way, at no additional cost to the reader. The key here is no ‘additional’ cost. I say that because I feel this is not well communicated by a lot of bloggers and podcasters that I like. It is obviously not true to say that purchasing something won’t cost you anything. Moreover, my sociological background makes me acutely aware of the role that blogs like this play in making people feel like that need things that they really don’t. I don’t want you to buy unnecessary stuff, I’m simply hoping to help where you might have a decision for something you need . To my mind, this is the lesser of evils where necessity is concerned, and I simply won’t put obnoxious ads on this site. In most cases the products and services mentioned on the site have been purchased outright, in full, by the author, which means this is a far from profitable endeavour. Where I mention or recommend anything that hasn’t come to me by way of lightening my own pocket, I will make that very clear. The bottom line is this: nothing is ever written about here that can’t be covered from direct experience.
If I get something wrong, please let me know and I will get on with sorting that out right away, I am by no means infallible or immune to gaffs. You can email me here
